Demo

I could not log onto the demo (http://demo.opensourcecms.com/tiki/tiki-index.php) with admin, and password demo or password admin...the logon page says to use admin as the password. Hey, TW is awesome and for a novice like me, getting a look via admin, on the admin demo, is a great idea. It would save me lots of trial and error if I could get a sense of groups, users, perms, categories, and what have you.

Sorry for the trouble, Fact. I contacted opensourcecms.com and found that our page had old information. Try with the new password.

Thanks for the quick attention to the password, Gary. The demo showed me that I need to get use to the Object Permissions page method of assigning perms. It allows for more comprehensive, visually at least, of assigning object-group perms and respective includes, or inherited perms. I’m betting I can be faster and more thorough assigning perms to groups with it.

Comments on the tiki-objectpermissions.php (from a non-techno user):
The “light in my head” did not go on until I played around with the filter. The default view of the page, when it first open up, confused me as I was expecting a table for the rows (comments, file galleries, etc), and columns of groups. Users like me need all the visual clues they can get. The mouse-over on the table toggle selection might want to say something about expanding or collapsing the table/selections. “Toggle” is ambiguous whereas expand/collapse is something understood and known to be a visually thing.

On a minor note: there was a delay on onclick in the Assign Permissions tab for the selected group’s includes. The perms include did not show grayed-checked until the next mouse pick anywhere on the page.

Again, thanks for the opportunity to use such an awesome application as TW…out of the charity of the collective group I hope to put TW to good use with a family web site.
