Links to Files within page body?

My users would like to be able to have links to files associated with a page show up within the body of the page itself.

That is, they want to attach a file (the current approach is OK for that), but then be able to reference the attached file somewhere in the page itself with a link that would either open the file with the appropriate application, or allow downloads from the link.

Is this possible? Does this make sense?

Thanks,

Frank

PS
It is very difficult to enter a post in the editor window that is only 3 characters wide on my system (Suse Linux 9.1 with konqueror as the browser).

HI

Yes there is a new wiki plugin I think in the upcoming 1.9 release. Sit in there, its on its way. Dont use 1.9 yet, cos its not stable hence your editing problems, but if we didnt use our own dogfood on tw.o we wouldnt have the bugs fixed!

Were your comments just directed to the tiny editing window?

Of course I would like the editing issue fixed, but I am more concerned about the ability to have file links showing up within the body of a wiki page.

Thanks,

Frank
