TikiWiki ReWrite Rules (Problem Fixed)

United States

Hi Everyone,

I added the TikiWiki ReWrite Rules to the .htaccess file in my tiki directory and all of the general rules work fine, but not the numeric identifier rules. They come up with a blank page. Has anyone else run into this problem? Thanks in advance.

P.S. I've attached a copy of what I added to the .htaccess file.

Hi Everyone,

Well from the lack of response I'm guessing not too many other people are using the RewriteEngine to generate ShortURLs. Anyway I managed to figured out a way to get the numeric identifier rules working. I'll use the directory rule as an example. I changed:

RewriteRule
directory(0-9+) /tiki/tiki-directory_browse.php?parent= QSA,L

to

RewriteRule
directory(.*) /tiki/tiki-directory_browse.php?parent=$1 QSA,L

So instead of having an URL of:

http://www.alexsfreestuff.com/tiki/tiki-directory_browse.php?parent=1

I now have a ShortURL of:

http://www.alexsfreestuff.com/tiki/directory1

...which is a SEO-Friendly.

Hope this helps someone. cool

The standard tiki works only work when tiki is setup at the domains / not in a subdir.

Thanks Damian, good to know. Well at least this will help those of us who installed tikiwiki in a subdir. By the way I reposted the rule in another post as a text attachment since the forum saw the brackets as a link. Is there any way to post these type of things in the forums without this problem?
