Blog Setup Frustrations

I'm setting up a private tiki site. There are two users (plus admin). I have created a blog for each of these users, and assigned appropriate post and admin rights for each in their own group (the blogs allow comments, but only allow the users to create posts - they are not allowed to create new blogs).

It doesn't seem to matter what I do, when I log in as a regular user instead of admin, I have no rights to post to the blog I've been assigned ownership of.

I've watched the little movie and followed those directions as best as I can, but somehow I'm still restricted.

What am I missing?

I wanted a simple document repository where my developers could keep a development log and such, but this is turning out to be a headache to get configured.

The blog system is designed in a way that it needs to be created by the user who will blog.

Admin created blogs will be for admin user to blog in. The two users need to create their blogs themselves.

Okay, I thought that perhaps I, as the admin, could limit the number of blogs a user could create by inventing it for them, then giving them the rights to post into it. My only choice then is to give them create rights, let them make a blog, then take away the permission to create if I don't want them to have more than one.

I suppose there's no real reason to keep them from making more than one... but since they're development journals I sort of wanted a single, linear dialog from each dev.

That answers the question though... now I know how to fix it. Thanks!

Okay, I was making a bad assumption about how security ought to work. I thought that the admin could create a blog for a user, then give them rights to use it. Apparently you just give them the rights to create a blog and then they can create as many as they want.

That answered my question...
Thanks...
