css in 1.9

Hi again, I have spent some time trying the various css on version 1.9 I admit this version is not presented as finished yet.

I must say most css have DIV position problem in IE on Windows. You might reply "get a proper browser" or "get a proper OS". However, for my users, things other than IE on Windows do not exist. I also believe that, in general, it is sensible to make a CMS that will be used by another population than LUGs.

Also, I must say that many of the CMS that are shipped with 1.9 have clearly aesthetic problems. Only akwa, damian, default2, geo, tceti an tiki have a pleasant interface. I think the other ones should be simply removed. They can cause client disappointment.

Furthermore, there should be a way to remove by one click that horrible default footer, without having to learn Smarty.

Well, I know in version 1.9 you have Header (Site identity) administration. Thank you for that. I think css choice, footer and header edition should be gathered in one separate admin page. They have nothing to do with Server name, for instance.

Try looking at the bottom of the Features page, for options to turn off the top, bottom, left and right area's

There are more premium designs available at http://tikihost.net in the TikiWiki themes category.

The problem for IExplorer is the first line produced by the header.tpl.
The xml line wil force IExplorer to use the quirk mode instead of the standard mode. Most but not all problems will disapear when you remove this line because of W3 standards. Maybe it has to removed by default or must be optional.

The visual impact of themes is very personal. You don't like the ones I like
For IE, I found too that if you apply the box hacking for the style, the middle column doesn't go under the right column. It is easy to do but as it is a hacking, I don't find it is a good idea to put in cvs. I can help if needed
