Hi!

Tiki 1.7.1.1 is very very old.

Please upgrade to Tiki 1.9.4 and you will see quite a difference.

Upgrading your database could be tricky however. Make sure to make a backup before you start.

Here is the sequence of sql scripts you should run:

tiki_1.7to1.8.sql
comments_fix_1.7to1.8.sql
structure_fix_1.7to1.8.sql
tiki_1.7to1.8.sql (yes again)
tiki_1.8to1.9.sql

Some of the files you get here:
http://mods.tikiwiki.org/Dist/sql-upgrade_1.7to1.8-1.1.tgz

And the last file (tiki_1.8to1.9.sql), you find it in Tiki 1.9.4

Please keep us updated on your progress!

M ;-)

I moved the database to a W2k3 Server running apache

I run the upgrade scripts against the database and something are added/changed and others arent.

When Im dont and it goes to load the index file I get

Notice: this site is currently unavailable.

Please try again later or contact the admin.

Try this: go to your Tiki's tiki-install.php and if that page displays, click the link at the bottom of the page that says something like "Do nothing and enter Tiki".

I installed Tiki 1.9.4 on my Windows laptop a few days ago and got that same "This site is currently unavailable" message after installing, but went to the install page and clicked the "do nothing and enter" link and the site displayed normally from then on.

Yeah that didnt work so I scrapped that for now, I was able to grab all the old source files off the server. I put them in htdocs

when I try to view any of the files tiki gives me

You dont have permission to use this feature

Go back

Return to home page

or

Permission denied you can not view this section

Go back

Return to home page

I know I need to change settings like the database but how can I get permisson first?

Are you logging in as admin? If so, you should already have permission for everything.

Anything in the database can be changed by using phpMyAdmin to access it directly.

See thats the thing I get that on every page so I cant login.

Could it have something to do with the setup.sh file and the fact that this came off a linux box and is running under apache on win2k3 now?
