Admin has no permission on new install...

Hello,

I am new to Tiki and I think I have a pretty good install, except I can't do ANY configurations. My tiki-admin.php page (among others) shows up with the message "You do not have permission to use this feature". I do have the right password and the database is functioning.

Server Windows 2003 sp2
IIS6
MySQL

HELP!

If you go to /tiki-login_scr.php , do you see "logged in as admin" ?

When I go to tiki-login_scr.php, I get a window that still asks me to login. It seems that I can't login at all. I have tried to see what happens if I use a bad password, and the system seems to recognize that it is not correct. A good password just keeps me in the login screen tiki-login_scr.php.

Thanks~~
Willie

Is it possible that my login (Admin/Adminpass) isn't getting me into my database? I have no account on the database that matches the name "admin"... I didn't see anywhere in the instructions or troubleshooting to do that, so I didn't.

Thanks again

Are you trying to log into TikiWiki or your database? For a brand new Tiki install the default login is admin / admin. You will be prompted to change the password after your initial login.

Logging into TikiWiki. I login with Admin/Admin, then change the password as prompted. Afterwards, I see no admin options. IS there any information I can provide that will help figure this out? I will provide everything I can. Been working on this for my office since October - never been beyond this point.

Thanks!

Make sure your browser isn't caching the non-Admin pages.

HTH and others who may be of assistance,

Cleared all cache and history - (I was concerned about why I didn't think of that), either way, it didn't get me any farther than I was already. I tried with IE and Firefox. While we work on this, is there a way to find out when the last successful login to the database was, even though I don't know if I can actually login to find out?

For what it's worth, new stuff I realized while troubleshooting.
On the left pane of the install I only see these links:
Wiki Home
Last Changes
Rankings
List Pages
Orphan Pages
Sandbox

When I do my initial install each time I have tried, the ONLY profile option I would be offered is "Default". Maybe this aids in determining the problem???

Thanks!
Willie

Okay, for anyone else who might run into this...

I solved my problem (finally). I quit using and decided to try Apache (I don't know if that really had an effect, anyway, part of the troubleshooting). After trying EVERYTHING under the sun, I finally simply ran the installation manually and THAT seemed to do the trick.

And all is right with the world again... for now
