How do you lock pages/articles/faqs?
How do you configured the YouTube Plug in?
What would I use a Tracker for?
How do you use the Google Map locater? I have the key enter, the map shows up. When I go to user preferences I can pick my location and click Save Clicked point but it doesn't update the map. I can only get it to work if I copy and paste my latitude/longitude into the preferences page.

No change in locking pages, from earlier Tiki versions. I don't think it's ever been possible to lock articles and faqs; you just assign perms to these features to control them.

Just enter the embed url from the Youtube.com page where the video is as the parameter for the plugin.

See the docs on Trackers: http://doc.tikiwiki.org/tiki-index.php?page=Tracker

Not sure about the Google Map locater, without checking. Maybe someone else can answer.

I went from 1.9 to 2 to 3 in the span of a couple weeks so I didn't fool around with 2 at all.

There used to be a tab at the top of the wiki pages for locking. That's not there now, nor is there any sort of icon to click. I found a wiki page that was locked and it showed a padlock, I was able to click and unlock it but then saw no way to relock. Is there something else I need to turn on or enable to get these tabs back??

Okay the youtube plugin is for a single video to play then?

I did read the docs on Trackers but I guess I don't get how they would be of use, I guess I was looking for examples of how they are used by others to see if it was a feature I could put to use. Not a big deal.

About Gmap (As well as with all features), please read first the Documentation.
In this GMap case:
http://doc.tikiwiki.org/GMap

And whenever you learn how to do something, that you couldn't find at the documentation, please log in and update the documentation! :-)

I did read that, several times as well as the extra links and I watched the video though it seems to be for a prior version and the quality was poor.

Am I misunderstanding how the locator works? I though that if I used the locator and clicked 'save click point' it would save my pointer on the map automatically. That is not happening. It reloads the page as if its saving, then the link to return to preferences is gone. Then if I click on the user map there is no marker. I can only get it to work if I use the locator solely to determine my longitude and latitude and then return to the preference page and copy those numbers in. Does the locator exist only to help you determine long/lat and not to click and add yourself?

The documentation doesn't really explain that so I don't know if it's not working properly of I am misunderstanding its intended function.

I've tried in FF 3 and IE 7

I did search the documentation and the 'smarties' site as well for my other questions but I did not find the answer. I spent several hours yesterday trying to figure this out on my own before coming to request help. I do appreciate both of you taking the time to try to help me.

"Users can lock pages" is on tiki-admin.php?page=wiki, under the "Features" tab, in TikiWiki 3.

Sorry, but I don't see any lock icon or admin option for faqs or articles in my 1.9.11 installation.

Yes, the Youtube plugin is to play a single Youtube video; do you have a suggestion for some other function it could have?

Well, trackers can be used when you need a way to have data input, compiled, and displayed at your site, such as how the bug reports are done at dev.tikiwiki.org. But of course not every web site needs this kind of functionality.

Thank you! For some reason I was not seeing that admin page, or not looking in the proper place so I used your link and indeed found 'users can lock pages'. I guess it reset to defaults with upgrade.

As for Youtube, I was hoping that I could put in the location of my channel and it might cycle through my videos or provide a list of links with the video titles. OR, and this is something I have been unable to accomplish on XOOPS, set a feed that would pull any Youtube videos related to my configured keywords. So I would put in the key words "hermit, crab, coenobita" and it would display matches. Either as a list to click or just randomly display and play the video. This would search all of YouTube and not just my channel.

I have no clue how to accomplish this, my inability to find the unlock setting demonstrates my 'coding' ability. mrgreen
