Upgrading 1.7.5 to 1.8 RC3 - problem
I just figured out how to upgrade from 1.7.5 to 1.8RC3. I am running on Apache with Win XP.
I unzipped the tiki 1.8 into a new directory. I also copied my database to a new one so I didn't mess up my old.
- I ran tiki-install.php to point to the new db
- I ran the "1.7 to 1.8 conversion script
- I ran the comment_fix scripts (1 & 2).
- the "structure" update didn't work for me. I tried running the PHP file, but got an error related to locating PEAR (anyone know how to fix that).
- I ended up "taking the sql buried in the PHP" and created sql scripts I could run directly against mysql. I couldnt' find them anywhere else but buried in the Strucutre...bla.1.7-to1.8.php file.
- Once I ran these scripts it was working.
