You can achieve that for the past events, tasks (as of created with trackers, etc) in the last day, with daily reports.
To get a list of things planned to happen according to a calendar, within the next day, I guess you can achieve that using trackers as calendars. See the details in PluginTrackerCalendar, and the corresponding pages for plugin trackernlist and trackerfilter. To get you easily started with this nice advanced feature in Trackers, you can apply the profile: "Tracker_as_Calendar_10" (or something like this.
