Error Messages "Function not found"/ TW 1.8

posts: 6 Germany

Hi everybody,

I believe that I may need some help to resolve the following problem with TW 1.8: Occasionally I receive these error messages:

Warning: refresh_search_index() function.refresh-search-index: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(lib/pear/refresh-functions.php) is not within the allowed path(s): (/www/htdocs/v102054/) in /www/htdocs/v102054/tikiwiki/lib/search/refresh.php on line 13

Warning: refresh_search_index(refresh-functions.php) function.refresh-search-index: failed to create stream: Operation not permitted in /www/htdocs/v102054/tikiwiki/lib/search/refresh.php on line 13

Fatal error: refresh_search_index() function.refresh-search-index: Failed opening required 'refresh-functions.php' (include_path='lib/pear:lib/adodb:lib/pear:lib:.:/www/htdocs/v102054/tikiwiki/lib/pear') in /www/htdocs/v102054/tikiwiki/lib/search/refresh.php on line 13

Usually, the messages disappears after refreshing the screen or opening another page.

Because this errors appear rather erratically, it looks as if the path information in TW is lost from time to time. In most cases the corresponding PHP-module (refresh-functions.php) is found. It is stored in the "search"-directory, not in the "pear"-directory, where it is apparently expected.

I do not know the implications of these errors. Until now, I did not observe any side-effects. However, it is quite inconvenient to have such messages at all.

I assume that the error messages are somehow related to an installation problem.

Further information: up to now, I only observed these messages using IE 5.5. With IE 6, sometimes a blank screen appears which disappiears after "refreshing the screen. I did not yet observe them using Netscape/Mozilla.

Any Idea or hints?

Best Regards

Hi,

This is a common question and has been fixed in the 1.8.1 release. Open your lib/search/refresh.php and delete the line with the fopen in it.

There are other posts in the forum with the same wink

Hi Damian,

thank you for the prompt answer. Indeed, after removing the line, the messages appear less often. But they do not disappear permanently. confused. Any other hint?
