Mobile Tikiwiki

Hi,

We have a small project going that is looking at how common Open Source web applications could be modified so that they could effectively serve users with mobile devices such as camphones and PDA's. So far we've looked at PostNuke and Gallery with Gallery 2 and LiveJournal currently in the works. We have a few demos online at http://mummola.cs.tut.fi/.

What we're wondering is if anyone has considered developing mobile friendly features into Tikiwiki? With mobile devices having fairly complete XHTML implementations in their browsers, it really would be feasible to provide web services for them too.

Hi Ziller

We have some mobile support, at least through wiki and blogs. This is provided through the HAWHAW interface.

This interface also gives your tiki instant ability to be voice navigated through a voice browser too

Have a search for VoiceTiki in the PageName box

Hi,

That's cool! But I was thinking more on the lines of using a regular web browser like Opera running on a mobile. I've been blogging on a Nokia 3650 for a couple of weeks now, it's pretty addictive. With a clean interface and some intelligent content selection, all sorts of neat things become possible. Reading /. is still a pain though, and that's why CMSes also need to start going mobile.
