Expiration of Articles

posts: 12

We are using articles for the dpartment's news and would like to keep it up-to-date by the use of expiration dates.

Surprisingly, expired articles are still shown.

Any ideas?

Hiya!

In Articles->Admin Types there are options to enable/disable the expiration dates, Check those out, I think the answer could be there

We experience, that people don't properly set the expiration date. Since the default value is set to 1 year, most of the news are outdated.

Is it possible to tweak the default setting for expiration?

Go into tiki-edit_article.php find the line below and change the number 365 to whatever length you would like it set to or instead you could put +1 after the $cur_time["mon"] to change to 1 month. The choice is yours, just remember when upgrading to change it in your upgrade smile.

Copy to clipboard
$expireDate = mktime ($cur_time["hours"], $cur_time["minutes"], 0, $cur_time["mon"], $cur_time["mday"]+365, $cur_time["year"]);
