Permissions for trails?

I'm running tiki 1.84 on a linux box.

Apologies, I don't know the proper vocabulary. The wiki we've set up is supposed to support several groups, and some of the groups have internal documentation they don't want open to everyone allowed access to the wiki. The obvious answer is to customize the permissions for that documentation to only allow group members to view those documentation sets.

The problem we're having is that we haven't figured out how to set the permissions for a "trail". Basically, we'd like to make a page, assign permissions for that page, and then set it up so that pages created from there automagically have those same permissions, rather than having to go through and set half a dozen permissions for each page that's created.

Is it possible to do this? Or can someone recommend a reasonable work-around?

Thanks,

-Charles

In 1.8 you need to set each page manually

In 1.9 you can either do it via a category or even better for documentation by structure.
