The directory '/tmp' does not exist or PHP is not allowed to access it (check open_basedir entry in php.ini). You may either create missing directories and chmod directories manually to 777, or run one of the sets of commands below. Execute the Tiki installer again after you run the commands below.

I have no folder called tmp in the zip file i downloaded and no so called php.ini either to change any thing in...

Any ideas?

Please try to explain simple wink

If you are using shared hosting you cannot modify the php.ini file. php.ini is a configuration file that controlls the parameters and environment settings on PHP.

My advice is to read InstallTikiUnderSafeMode, or if your not upto that, try a TikiFriendlyHosts. Some people FindTikiExpert will install it for you on your server too.
