Broken overnight

I was using my new TikiWiki (1.8.4) last night, and then I logged in this morning and received this error:

Image
Copy to clipboard
Warning: mysql error: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '-1' at line 1 in query: select `permName`,`type`,`level`,`permDesc` from `users_permissions` where `type`= ? order by `permName` desc in /usr/home/www/karmic/antinomia.com/docs/broken/lib/tikidblib.php on line 133 Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /usr/home/www/karmic/antinomia.com/docs/broken/lib/tikidblib.php on line 151

I haven't done anything to tikidblib.php or any file for that matter. I tried a fresh install of 1.8.4 and still receive the same error. Is there a problem with my database? What gives? Has anybody had this problem before?

I tried searching the forums but was unable to find anything.

Thanks!
Matt

This is interesting. When I tried loading the site from another computer, I just got a blank page for index.php (or tiki-index.php). And when I load something like tiki-forums.php, I get the message that I'm not allowed access to that area (because I'm not logged in). THEN, when I actually log in, I get the same error.

I didn't alter any code or make any changes before this started happening, I'm pretty sure. Does anyone have ANY idea what's going on here!?!

Thanks,
Matt

Hi Matt,

I think maybe your host has upgraded the database to MySQL 4.1 which is not compatible with TikiWiki 1.8, it is being worked on in 1.9.

You can check that by going to your phpMyAdmin or alternative database frontend and checking the versions.

If it is indeed 4.1 you'll probably find TikiFriendlyHosts handly wink

This is now a common problem, there is a post by Michelle in the other forum with similar problems.
