Getting "ii cannot find a database connection" error

When I start the tiki-install.php I get Tiki cannot find a database connect error
I installed tiki 1.8, PHP4 on a w2k machine.
I tested the PHP with test.php
I have MSSQL installed and MYSQL4.1

any ideas?

Check your PHP config has the mysql extension loaded, the mysql service is started and remember that mysql 4.1 is not fully supported.

Ya did that now during the database create there is an error about "users_users" but the create database seems to work. Is this something of consern?
