    Hello,

    I have a question about backlinks. I have setup a support page for users and then I have a link to an FAQ which displays the FAQ but I have a question about displaying backlinks to the support page on the FAQ page.
    If anyone can help that would be great

    The Tiki FAQ feature isn't especially great yet, so you might want to just use a wiki page instead. Use a {maketoc} on the page and make the headings your questions. This will create a very FAQ-like wiki page, with the questions as links at the top and the questions and answers below in the body of the page. PLUS you get the backlink to your support page. smile

    Thanks Gary That is what I did but just thought I would try to use the FAQ feature.

    Is there any way I can take the code from the backlinks on another wiki page and pasting the code into the FAQ tpl?

    You could put the backlink gadget in the FAQ template easily enough. The problem would be supplying it with the right information. If you only have one FAQ, you could hardcode that into the template. Of course this wouldn't work if you have more than one FAQ with different wiki pages to link to.

    A workaround would be putting the backlink information in a FAQ question/answer. Not too elegant, though. If you categorize the FAQ and relevant wiki pages, then there are also those links for users, but this isn't necessarily intuitive for people.

    I haven't looked at what would be involved in getting the link information dynamically. I suspect wiki backlink information is kept in a database table and written and called as necessary. Somehow wiki page tables record links to other pages, which are checked by the linked pages to populate the dropdown gadget. So you might have to modify a FAQ-related table as well as adding the code to check the table to the FAQ display files.
