    In tiki1.10 (a dev version not a production version), it has been developped
    By adding the following to each local.php:
    $db_table_prefix - base table prefix
    $common_users_table_prefix - common "users" prefix

    Perhaps it can be backported easily as it touchs only one file lib/tikidblib.php
