Re: Page not found error code - for use verifying ownership for Google

Are you using a custom 404 page in your htaccess? I had this same problem. To let Goolge verify your site:

  1. Temporarily rename your htaccess file.
  2. Reverify your site with Google.
  3. Retore your htaccess file.


I had to do the same thing, took about 5 minutes.
