Adding a tag cloud to Tikiwiki

posts: 3665 United States

Has anyone integrated a tag cloud (del.icio.us, spurl, etc.) to their Tiki blog or wiki pages? I'm in the process of hacking one together for my site, but wanted to see if I could "steal" some ideas from anyone else. smile

That's great, any idea of when it will be released? Or can you point me to the code and I can try to back-port it to my Tiki?

Hey Rick;

I did a quick look at the files that are part of the tags. WOW there are a lot. Perhaps you should check to see if it is being backported to 1.9x.

I suggest getting a copy of 1.10 as my zip may not be complete. As well some of the files did not seem to properly note the folder. But to give you some idea of what is involved take a peek at the attached zip.

I have played with this a bit but it does seem to still be quite young in the development. Mind you that could also be because I am a slow learner. lol

Good luck, James

Thanks James. I'm still at 1.9.1.... I can't even think about 1.10 at this point. While I appreciate the continuing development, there has to be a better upgrade process.

Thanks for the ZIP... It looks like I'm going to have to wait for while for it to mature. In the meantime (if anyone else is interested), Tagcloud.com looks promising — supposed to be very easy to integrate.

Hey Rick;

Sorry I did include a few files that are not related to the FreeTags thing. There are some that are related to pdf creation. I did a tag search to find the files included. I did remove the ones that were about MeteTags and QuickTags but did not think about the pdf tags. The ones that are like tag.xxx.inc.php are for pdf.

Your question made me relook at the FreeTags again and I must say it has really evolved in the last few months since my last use. Well worth checking out! I think the term would be, very immpressive!

Good work to the devs that are doing this!

James
