Changed the admin to my username

Everything set up without a hitch and working great. Changed the "admin" username to "cfaulkner" and won't allow me to login. Was wondering if anyone else is having this problem. Thanks!

The admin name must be admin. You'll need to reset it.

See this FAQ for details.

I gues that the best solution in the mid term is to avoid (by code) that admin user is renamed.
And also, that anonymous and registered groups are renamed (Tiki stop workiing properly, as far as I remember).

Rick, should we fill in a RFE for this issues?

I think that the RFE should be that the following username should not be changable or deletable:

  • admin

And the following groupnames should not be changable or deletable:

  • registered
  • anonymous

Additionally, there should be a usergroup administrator that has all permissions. This would allow Tiki-admins to easily create new Admin logins, with their own usernames.

Just my $0.02.

A couple of usability issues may need to be fixed here.

a) remind/reset passwords is off by default - should be on?
b) no email is set on admin by the installer

this would prevent most newbie lost admin password issues i think.

You cannot change the default admin name (see this FAQ for details). Instead, create an Admin group and add your username to the group.
