TikiWiki Help Desk Solutions?

We are thinking about migrating from a homegrown Help Deskp/Techlog program we use, and researching the capabilities of TikiWiki to do this....what we need is something that has the following components....has anybody had any experience with using tikiwiki in this scenario, and even better, have a link to some examples? What is ths workfows/workspace thing I see, will this do it?

Log Tech Requests
Email notifications of logged tech requests including updates
Groups type permissions, whereby a group can see their own techlogs
Searchable

I don't know about the Galaxia workflow (I've never used it), but it sounds like Tiki's tracker function can do what you need.

Tikiwiki offers a lot of potential for a help desk system.

Trackers

I think Rick is right! The Tracker system is a very good option for a help desk system. This is the choice I have used in the past. The trackers offer a lot of power in sharing ideas. You can create what you need to do and what you want! Hey I would be happy with this.

WorkSpaces

However now , I also look at the strength of the Workspaces system and see that this can help connect many of the dots of a good integrated concept. Your work space may include the helpdesk trackers as well as what ever else you need in the concept! IE forums, wiki pages, whatever!

Galaxia workflow

The "Galaxia workflow" is a bit beyond me. I understand the concept but do not have the required skill set to make it work. I would think that some wise person could integrate all three of these features to make a mega HELPDESK system. The strength of Galaxia seems very under used. The idea that if this changes then that should happen is the real appeal.

But I will leave that up to you or someone that can help me understand!
