Fixing forum problem - "Another post with the same title and content already exists"

One of my forums is hooked up to a mailing list. It has been working great until today when I go to check things out and it gives me the "Another post with the same title and content already exists"

I can't figure out how to fix this error. (I don't want to delete the forum and create it again.)

Is there a way to delete the offending post? (I can't find it in admin forums, or when I go admin the specific forum.)

Can anyone please help?

Thanks in advance,

Alan

Hi Alan, and Welcome to Tikiwiki community!

Unfortunately, I had the same problem on tiki 1.10 for long, and as far as I know, it hasn't been fixed yet.

In my case, I deleted old forums I had created on the same site years ago, and problem solved. The easiest solution (in the meantime there is no coder which can solve it) would be to re-post that message with a slightly different title and/or content. This would (should) do.

And also post a bug report at http://dev.tikiwiki.org/tracker5 so that coders know that this bug is still around (in case you don't find my old bug report in there)

Cheers

How can I re-post the message? I didn't post a message. Everything was automatically brought over from the mailing list through a POP mailbox.

Thanks in advance,

Alan

turns out the problem was in one of the messages in the mailbox that POP was trying to pull over. I went and deleted the few oldest messages in the mailbox, and things were back to working.

This concerns me because I don't want to have to do manual work with the interface to a mailing list.

Any suggestions on how to keep this from happening will be appreciated.

Thanks!!
