just blank pages after upgrade 1.9.11 -> 2.0

I upgraded from 1.9.7 to 1.9.11, everything fine
so I continued from 1.9.11 to 2.0 and all messages are fine, but as soon as I go to the normal site, I get a blank page:

memory limit is 256, so it can't be that. Tried and re-tried everything. Followed all the instructions. Am now thinking of using the 1.9.11 backup, but would still one day like to get the 2.0 features.

What could possibly cause this?

hmmm... the 'blank page' code doesn't show here, but it's a BODY tag, directly followed by the closing /BODY tag.

It could be the docroot problem in described in other posts. That certainly was the problem for me. It seems to relate to hosts running IIS

hmmm (don't read on if you only like happy endings)

well, i thought: lots of frustrated visitors, lets quickly copy the 1.9.11 files back, and restore the 1.9.11 database. When I did, mysql never gave a confirmation message. That was a bit strange, obviously. Anyway, the site didn't work either. So i started investigating and found out the backed up databases had a lot less tables than the original. The last table is 'sessions', and that one is empty.

So in fact I think I've tried to restore a faulty backup file over the live database and the other backups that I have all have the same problem.

In other words: I think I'm seriously f**ked, unless you have a miraculous solution or you are the son/daughter of some god and mend these things for fun. (In which case you probably won't need more details, and everything will work fine in 30 minutes or so?)

did you try removing the cache files?
another thing you can try is to see if you can reproduce your problem with the TikiLiveCD , to ensure that there is no othr problem with your installation.
Upgrades work fine for me... (and I've done a bunch already in the last months)...

Well I 'll try, but as I've tried to copy a 'partial' db over the new one (a 1.9.11 (up to sessions) over a 2.0 db), I guess it's not the installation but the db... But I'll try anyway.

What I would like to know, if a 1.9.11 db, until 'sessions' (that table is empty and there are no more tables) was written over a 2.0 database, is there a way to sort it out again? Can I change names of tables, delete tables or whatever is necessary to make it either a valid 2.0 or a valid 1.9.11 db, so I have something to work with? I'd really like some solution, there's too much wrk in it to just let it go really. All tips and god ideas are very welcome! Thanks.

(have now been without tikiwiki for a few days and lots of visitors are getting annoyed...)

Is this the best place for such a database-specific question?
