Upgraded to 2.1 -no dice. Tried above fix -worked like a charm!
It looks imposing but if you do what the fix says it will make sense when you see it. Remember -the null value means don't put anything in the field blank -zip nada!(and if there's something in there get it out).
Now, if you do not have access to the database you'll have to give this fix to someone who does.
