Hi!

I would start looking into the wiki-plugin that handles these definations. If you manage to tidy it up let me know and I'll include it in the latest CVS versions

If you want some more guideance, please post back!

I'd be happy to have a go at it. Where would I find the plugin (or, more generally, where do I find a list of plugins and what they each provide)?

I found that okay but could not see anywhere that the function in that is called - need this to stop the function being called for each definition line.

Did anybody ever figure out how to fix this? It really does add too much white space

If you don't use literally "{DL()}" the job is done in tikilib.php, line 4420 for 1.8.2 :
$line = preg_replace("/^;(.*):^\/\/(.*)/", "$1$2", $line);
