Changing table prefixes

Hi,

To enhance the security of my tiki site, I would like to change the table prefixes in my database.

My question is:

1. Which files do I need to modify for the new prefixes ? (like in joomla, you can update the configuration.php file with the new prefix).

2. I can see three prefixes, named, tiki, messu, and metrics. Shall I change all three prefixes ?

thanks.

this feature is not provided by tiki, as far as I know. So unless you rename the names of those tables also in ALL your tiki code, it won't work.

I would consider improving security by other means, if you are really concerned with that, and not just the names of the tables.
My 2 cents.

Dear Xavi,

Thank you for your reply.

As I am on a shared server, so the concern is really there for security.

Can you please give a direction for other security means please ?

Thanks again.

  • enable https and force login with https
  • add the "secure db" tables, to check your files in your installation. Search for security in doc.tiki.org and read those suggestions.
