Problem uprading from 6.0 to 6.1

Hi,

I'm upgrading a site from 6.0 to 6.1. I've removed all files from the folder and performing a fresh install and upgrading the database. Immediately after I click the upgrade database button in the Wiki installer I get this error message in my browser:

Fatal error: require() function.require: Failed opening required 'db/tiki-db-pdo.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/php52/pear') in /home/homeedsh/public_html/tiki-6.1/db/tiki-db.php on line 207

Once the error occurs I am unable to reenter the installation sequence and have to delete the files and start again. This has occurred at least 6 times and I can't seem to get past this problem and do not know where to start. I've tried setting directory permissions all to 755.

This is in the cpanel error log:

2010-12-18 03:16:52: info: usr/grp: homeedsh/homeedsh cmd: /home/homeedsh/public_html/tiki-error_simple.php php: /usr/local/php52/bin/php

Program versions are
Apache:
1.3.41
Curl:
7.15.5
MySQL
5.0.91
PostgreSQL
8.3.3
Python:
2.4.3
ImageMagic:
6.4.3
Perl:
5.8.8
PHP:
5.2.5
ionCube Loader:
3.1.31
Zend Optimizer:
3.3.3
phpMyAdmin
3.2.4
OpenSSL:
0.9.8e-fips-rhel5

Please help ASAP.

Regards,
Guy.

Hi Guy:

If tiki was working fine in 6.0, I don't understand why it shouldn't do it in 6.1. Can you double check that you don't miss any file uploaded to your site?

If you have a backup of all your files (or the 6.0 you installed initially), can you try re-installing that 6.0, to see if the problem is solved?
If so, then, upload the different files (with some good ftp program, telling it to make a synchronization of files from your local 6.1 towards the 6.0 on the server).

Alternatively, you could try to use adodb instead of pdo in the db connection (but if it was working for you in 6.0, that shouldn't be an issue).
See this faq to see if it helps:

Reply back if you make any progress, please.

Xavi,

This solved the problem thank you.

Here's how I found the problem:

I unzipped a copy of tiki6.1 onto my pc, then used fireftp to compare directories between my pc and the server directory. There were at least 50 files missing on the server, so I synchronised them as you suggested and the upgrade works fine.

Thank you.

When I first uploaded the tiki6.1 file to the server, I uploaded the zip using filezilla and extracted the files using cpanel into a spare directory. Then I transferred the files across to the directory where the site lives. I'm not sure why or how the files disappeared. I noticed in one of the Tiki forums that someone had trouble when they transferred files using the auto and ascii modes in filezilla, but when they changed to binary they had no problems.

Do you have any other clues as to what might have caused my problem?

I'm about to update another Tiki site from 6.0 to 6.1 so I'll transfer it using binary mode and see what happens.

Guy.
