Cannot set blog to home page

This is driving me nuts!

In Admin/Wiki/general:
I've set a wiki page I created as "Home page". I could not get Tiki to get past the initial install screen unless I set this. That took a whole buncha tries but eventually it took.

That's where I sit. I want a blog for the home page but Tiki won't do it.

I've set Admin/General/Navigation:

"Use Tiki feature as home page" I've chosen the blog I want. This does not change the site from defaulting to the wiki page I chose above when users hit the site's url or hit the Home tab in the top menu bar.

Then I tried: "Use URL index" -I have the box checked and the URL (http and all) of the blog page I want. Still the site defaults to the wiki page when users hit the site's url.

Occasionally when Tiki gets out of something or after I've set something in admin and Tiki wants to go home it will go to the blog page. So somehow, at some times it knows the right place to go.

I went into the MySQL database and here's what I see in the tiki_preferences table:

Edit Delete __urlIndex http://pocketprogressive.org/tiki-view_blog.php?blogID=2_
Edit Delete feature_menusfolderstyle y
Edit Delete language en
Edit Delete wikiHomePage Pocket Progressive Wiki
Edit Delete tiki_domain_redirects
Edit Delete tikiIndex tiki-view_blog.php?blogId=2

That looks like what I've set but I really don't know if its right or not 'cause I'm no MySQL genius.

It is a huge bummer that the blog all my users are used to seeing, they now have to click a link to see. Not sure what to do at this point. I could go into my hosting cpanel and redirect anything coming to the site's url to go to the blog page but I'm not sure if I'll set up some recursive weirdness if Tiki insists on using the wiki page for a home page and I'm not sure that redirects don't mess with your site rankings on Google or whatever.

My brain hurts. I'm going to go lay down now.
