    Apologies for a real newbie question, but I couldn't find an answer to this in 15 minutes of searching.

    Is there a way to subscribe and receive only notices of new version releases? I have a lot of duties and would prefer not to read all the newsletters, but need to know of security fixes.

    Funny you ask, I was just working on that...

    At the moment, no great answer. There is not a new version or security-only mailing list.

    How about just a sticky forum thread where notices of all new versions (and updates to stable versions) are posted?

    Then we could sign on to monitor that thread and receive email from the forum.

    And put a link to the forum thread in all the right places ...
