Blank Page/500 Error

Running Tiki 10.0 on an HP laptop with Ubuntu 12.10 and a test server using LAMP. It is set up with virtual domains. Ran TIKI problem-free previously on Windows with a test server using WAMP. I'm new to Ubuntu and LAMP.

After editing a page, it returns a blank page with a 500 error.

Reset permissions to 755, which returned a "Tiki not properly set up" page that indicated that directories were not writable by www-data. Re-ran the installer, resulting in the same problem - editing a page returns a blank page with a 500 error. However the error logging is different.

Below is the initial entry followed by the entry following reinstall:

Thank you in advance for any insights on resolving this.

On tiki-admin.php?page=search, turn off "Search" (which is the Lucene one) and activate "MySQL Full-Text Search" instead. Lucene generally has better results and is required some advanced Tiki uses, but causes issues on some servers. MySQL Full-Text Search is just fine for the vast majority of sites.

Both the Lucerne and MySQL Full-Text Search were turned on in admin.

I unchecked Lucerne and edited a page. It showed the same response - blank page with 500 error.

The edits have been going through. When I change the URL from http://domain/tiki-editpage.php?page=Local%20News
to
http://domain/Local+News
it loads correctly and reflects the edit.

The page will just not redirect to the article following an edit.

I am currently experiencing the exact same problem with all my Tiki installations at arvixe.com. I have four instances installed via Softaculous. The instances have for redundancy and testing purpose different versions of TikiWiki, and the versions are 7.2, 8.3, 9.3, and 9.4.

Since this behavior occurred more or less simultaneously, and it behaves the same on all instances with different versions of TikiWiki, I first suspected some change or error on the server.

However, when testing a new fresh installation via Softaculous, with the same features enabled, the problem did not occur.

The problem is greatest when updating the forum, which is not possible to do properly as expected. Update of Wiki pages works sporadically after I disablade Lucen, which for some reason was enabled without my deliberately action.

Are there some catches related to Lucen (files as well as database entries) who should be cleared, though Lucen (search) is deactivated on the config page?
