It depends on your version of Tiki,
I think under 1.7 the articles will be there, but as there is no topic, they wont be visible, you'd need to play with the database.
If you have 1.8 There are options I think from memory to delete just the topic or the topic and articles. Under 1.7 you cant change the topic images, under 1.8 you can.
