Classified Articles - defining access

Where do the permissions for Classified Articles get set?

I understand that by selecting type "Classified" , the article header will appear on the Articles Home Page but only authorised users can open and read more. Is this the correct interpretation? How to implement?

Thks!

BTW: I want to implement layered reporting on our Intranet ie Registered Users can see a report has been posted, but only Management Group can access the detail in the body of the report (and preferably be able to subscribe to a notification system for report updates).

Eventually will want to extend this idea to further layer access to a report. Should I be considering another approach?

Hi,
articles types are not associated with permissions. Instead, topics are. So, you should be able to achieve what you want using both a type and a topic (if you really need a custom type).

I'm not an articles user, but I would be surprised if there was a way to get different permissions on article body and header without a bit of hacking.
One way to work could be to publish articles and put classified content in a Wiki page each time. There are currently no email notifications for articles, but there are for Wiki pages updates.

Create some topics and assign your permission to those topics. You can that use those topics with the article types to achieve what you want.
