I personally prefer PostgreSQL ot MySQL, so I tried to get TikiWiki working on PostgreSQL. There where some errors in the sql-File (tiki-1.8-pgsql.sql), so for example Line 2111 (the insert with 'javascript') will definitely not work. So i changed it to ... VALUES (42,'o','(debug)','javascript:toggle(\'debugconsole\')',40,'feature_debug_console','tiki_p_admin',''); instead.

The HomePage -> perms is setting permissions for that HomePage wiki page. so you'll only see permissions that relate to wiki. Click the :: next to Admin and choose Groups option from there, then click the key icon, next to either Registered or Anonymouse. wink you should see a whole lot more permission options now all grouped by tiki section.
