[SOLVED] PluginLIST - how to correctly configure 'user' field to display?

posts: 154 Ukraine

Hi,

I can't seem to get a 'user' field to display the user names (preferably 'real names') using PluginLIST.

I need for LIST to display the 'real name' of the user associated with that Tracker item - everyone in the group can see it, everyone in the group can edit it. So not 'me' as a 'user' can view my on items, or, not everyone in the group can see the items, but everyone in the group can see the user field column displayed in LIST and the actual user name associated with that entry. I have not yet set group permissions, but since I am testing with 'Admin' so that should not be necessary (Admin can see/do all).

In the 'Column' block I tried:

  • {column label="user" field="fieldName" content=""}
  • {column label="user" field="fieldName" mode="raw"}

And in the 'Format' block I tried:

  • {FORMAT(name="user")}{display name="tracker_field_fieldName" default=" " format="reference" type="user"}{FORMAT} based on instructions here: https://doc.tiki.org/PluginList-display-control-block#Parameters
  • also tried {FORMAT(name="user")}{display name="tracker_field_fieldName" default=" " format="user"}{FORMAT}
  • {FORMAT(name="user")}{display name="tracker_field_fieldName" default=" " format="trackerrender"}{FORMAT}

Maybe there is a more correct way of configuring LIST?

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike

In case it's still relevant, format="trackerrender" should make it look like the field does in tracker view item, but there are various options and prefs involved... in my experience once i've got the tracker to display it how i want, then format="trackerrender" will too...

Hi Jonny,

yes, still relevant, though I seem to have tried format="trackerrender". I'll take another look at it, maybe I made a formatting error.

thanks,
Mike

go figure, 'user error' again!

I looked at my Plugin List a thousand times but only yesterday did I see that one of the fields in the format blocks was referencing an old field. Once updated, it displays the users as intended.

It actually works without 'trackerrender' just then it only displays the 'login name'. With 'trackerrender' it than displays the 'real name' (if checked).

Mike
